With beautiful views of the North Thompson river, newer homes, and just a short drive down the hill to all amenities, Batchelor Heights is a lovely family neighborhood in Kamloops with approximately 5,000 residents. Batchelor Heights is located in the North area of Kamloops and is only a 10 minute’s drive North of downtown. Building lots, single family homes, half duplexes and newer townhouses offer gorgeous views of the city and river valley.

Shopping & Dining

Although Batchelor Heights does not have any retail or commercial stores, North Kamloops is only a quick five minute drive and offers many restaurants, professional offices, banks and grocery stores. Northhills Mall has a Shopper’s Drug Mart, McDonald’s, Starbucks and more. Canadian Tire North Kamloops location is also nearby. Most residents don’t feel the need to go to Sahali or Aberdeen, but is only 20 minutes away for the big box stores.

Parks & Recreation

Batchelor Heights is home to Saddleback Park, which is fully fenced and a great place for residents to take young ones. ‘Batch’ also has some great off-roading/dirt biking trails. Located on the North East border of Batchelor Heights, The Lac Du Bois Grassland Park is the newest grasslands protected area in the province. While the use of ATVs and 4-wheel drives are strictly prohibited in the protected area, they are permitted in the designated ATV area located outside of the protected area, to the south. The park is also great for hiking, with many designated walking trails.

Schools

Although Batchelor Heights does not have its own schools, students attend school in nearby Brocklehurst or Westsyde, with two private schools (OLPH and Kamloops Christian School) to also choose from in North Kamloops.

Transportation

BC Transit busses regularly service Batchelor Heights, you can view the BC Transit schedule on their website. The Yellowhead Highway only minutes away, which connects to the #1 Highway (about a ten minute drive South). The Kamloops Airport is only a five to ten minute’s drive away.
