Brocklehurst

Living

Brocklehurst features beautiful flat lots, plenty of sun, great walking areas, as well as a mix of mature and new homes. Brocklehurst is home to approximately 13,000 residents and is located in the North/North West area of Kamloops. It is typically 4 degrees warmer here than the rest of Kamloops due to it’s lower elevation, meaning less snow for its residents! Fruit trees do well here and many homeowners have a selection of fresh apples, pears, plums and cherries in the summer months. This area is known for its large lots of 0.25 acres or more, with many of them on the waterfront. Housing types include mobile homes, bareland strata developments, senior oriented living,  apartments, townhouses, half and full duplex units, single family homes and even acreage and farms.

Shopping & Dining

Brockehurst is home to the Brock Shopping Centre, which includes banks, coffee shops, restaurants, professional offices, a gym, liquor and grocery stores and more. The nearby Northhills Mall is home to Shopper’s Drug Mart, Starbucks, Mark’s Work Warehouse and many other retail shops. The North Shore has its own Canadian Tire and many other commercial retailers. Many residents find that they do not need to leave Brock for most of their needs, although most anywhere in town is only a 15 minute drive away, with downtown being just a few minute’s drive across the bridge.

Parks & Recreation

There’s plenty to do in this area of Kamloops. Among many other things, Brocklehurst offers a swimming pool, a large fenced dog park, a gorgeous golf course, and many walking/hiking trails along the river. The YM/YWCA features a large work out facility, classes and offers childcare with its membership as well. McArthur Island Park borders Brocklehurst and is easily accessible by walking and biking paths.
